Activities

We have a number of activities for members to enjoy and are always happy to add more if members are interested.

After Meeting LunchAfter our monthly meeting we gather for lunch, and a casual chat and general catch up with other members, usually at Asquith Golf Club.
AmblersA monthly easy walk on well marked fire tracks, suburban streets and interesting parks. Enjoy good company in a pleasant setting while getting a bit of exercise. Morning tea or light lunch often follows at a cafe in the area.
CardsAttend our fortnightly cards evening or afternoon to play and learn a variety of card games, particularly Canasta and Count Down Whist, in a casual and relaxed setting.
Craft ExchangeAn exchange of craft knowledge which may involve workshops, demonstrations and participation, as appropriate. We have many talented members with skills in many arts and crafts areas and believe others would be interested in learning more about these.
Dining ExperienceA monthly activity where members enjoy the company of others while experiencing the many and varied local cafes and restaurants.
Morning TeaWe meet monthly at a suitable cafe in the area for a casual chat and catch up with other members.
RummikubRummikub is similar to many card games, but uses tiles. The objective is to place all your tiles on the table by forming runs or sets of numbers of three or more. You can also add to existing runs and sets already placed on the table.
ShowtimeAttend a variety of shows in local clubs and other venues.
Ten Pin BowingAn occasional activity held at The Attic, Hornsby RSL Club, which includes an optional lunch at the Club beforehand.
TriviaAttend a monthly trivia night at a local club for a night of fun and friendly rivalry between our tables (as we don’t generally rank particularly highly on the overall quiz leader board, but we are improving).

Outings

We try to have a monthly outing, such as a visit to a museum, historical home, theatre, interesting garden or exhibition. We generally have lunch at a nearby cafe or restaurant.

Tours

The Club periodically arranges domestic and overseas trips to interesting places. Our most recent tours included a four day tour of King Island off the coast of Tasmania and a 14 day Japan Autumn Tour.
